Used cars that are 6 years old or older are an attractive proposition on the secondary market. However, some models are unreliable and not worth buying.
WhatCar experts have named the twenty worst crossovers. The rating also includes premium expensive models. However, we are interested in affordable offers.
We have selected used crossovers from the list that can be bought on the secondary market today in the range of 10-15 thousand dollars. That is, you shouldn't do this if you don't want to run into problems. Percentages are the reliability rating of each car.
The worst used crossovers for an affordable price:
- Peugeot 2008 (2013-2019) 50.6%;
- Nissan X-Trail (2014-2021) 58.3%;
- Ford Kuga (2008-2013) 61.6%;
- Nissan Qashqai gasoline (2014-2021) 64.4%;
- Dacia Duster (2013-2018) 68.2%;
- Nissan Qashqai diesel (2007-2013) 68.3%;
- Hyundai Santa Fe (2013-2018) 68.7%;
- Kia Sorento (2010-2015) 71.2%;
- Volkswagen Tiguan (2007-2016) 71.7%;
- Nissan X-Trail (2007-2014) 72.4%;
- Hyundai Tucson (2015-2020) 73.0%;
- Nissan Qashqai diesel (2014-2021) 74.0%.
The experts compiled the rating together with the insurance company. The authors of the study collected information from car owners about the breakdowns they had to face over the past two years.
