Pogba punished for doping

Juventus Turin midfielder Paul Pogba has received the maximum possible punishment for doping - a four-year ban. The French footballer, who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, was found guilty of using testosterone.

This was reported by La Repubblica. The 30-year-old footballer was tested after the first round match of the Italian championship, in which the "old lady" played away to Udinese. At the same time, Pogba never took the field, sitting on the bench for the entire 90 minutes.

The prosecution did not believe the player's defense that he had accidentally used a banned substance. In addition, Pogba's lawyers did not agree to make a deal with the investigation, which deprived the footballer, who will turn 31 on March 15, of the chance to receive a two-year suspension.

It should be noted that in 2016, Pogba set a transfer record for world football at the time, moving from Juventus to Manchester United for 105 million euros.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the most titled football player in history, Brazilian Dani Alves, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison in a rape case.
