The blackouts in Sumy and Poltava regions are not the beginning of massive electricity restrictions in the country. The outage schedules will be canceled after the completion of restoration works.

This was reported by Ukrenergo. According to hromadske, the blackout schedules in Poltava and Sumy regions were introduced because of the shelling of the Russian military.

Emergency power outages in Poltava region are attributed to shelling of energy infrastructure in Konotop district in Sumy region. Massive blackouts across the country "have not yet begun," Ukrenergo added.

On the night of October 28, Russians attacked power facilities in several regions, resulting in emergency blackouts in some areas of Sumy and Poltava regions in the morning. Ukrenergo noted that the Ukrainian power system is currently recovering from nine massive Russian attacks, and emergency and scheduled repairs are underway at power facilities.

But recently, the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, called on residents of the region to "prepare for the worst" in view of possible power outages. If the situation turns out favorably and the electricity is available, it will be a nice bonus, but residents should be prepared for the lack of light and heat in winter, but the main threat to Zaporizhzhia is the disruption of water pumping stations.

OBOZ.UA also reported that Ukraine may face power outages in early November due to increased consumption amid the cold snap. Experts predict that blackouts are unavoidable, especially in problematic regions of the country.
