Barcelona's 17-year-old footballer sets record of the century

Barcelona midfielder Lamin Yamal has become the first U-18 player to score the most goals in the 21st century. The 17-year-old scored two assists in the match of the 4th round of La Liga against Valladolid.

In the 24th minute, Yamal helped Robert Lewandowski to make it 2-0, and in the 72nd minute he assisted Rafinha (5-0). The final score of the match was 7-0.

Yamal has 14 effective actions in 42 matches of the Spanish championship: he scored 6 goals and made 8 assists. Thus, Lamin is ahead of Bojan Krkic (10 goals + 3 assists).

On August 20, 2023, Lamin was first included in the starting lineup of Barcelona for the Spanish championship game against Cadiz (2: 0), at the age of 16 years and 38 days he became the youngest La Liga player in the 21st century to start a match from the first minute.

Since then, he has played 55 matches for the main team in a blue and pomegranate shirt, scoring 8 goals and 13 assists in all tournaments.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Yamal's goal against France was recognized by UEFA as the most beautiful goal at the European Football Championship. Having scored in the semifinals, Lamin became the youngest goal scorer in the final stage of the Euros at the age of 16 years and 362 days.
