Baba Alba is a traditional Moldovan dessert that was served at major holidays and weddings in the old days. It's made from pasta and has a unique flavor.

Food blogger koly4ca_zhanka shared how to make Baba Alba so that everyone would definitely like this dessert on Instagram. She also showed a recipe for a delicious sauce that will only improve the taste of the dish.

Ingredients

  • pasta or spaghetti - 600 g
  • eggs - 8 pcs
  • sugar - 200 g
  • vanilla sugar - 1 sachet
  • milk - 600 ml
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • oil - 50 ml
  • jam - 300 g (can be replaced with prunes)

Method of preparation

1. Boil the pasta until half cooked, rinse with cold water, and add a little oil to prevent sticking.

2. Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy.

3. Add boiled pasta, baking soda, and oil to the eggs. Stir to combine.

4. Add milk and chopped prunes or jam.

5. Grease a baking dish with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

6. Pour in the batter and bake at 180 for 60 minutes.

7. Reduce the temperature to 160-150 degrees and bake for another 60 minutes.
