At first glance, streaks on a mirror don't seem to be anything critical or scary. But if you use it, for example, for makeup, extra stains can become a problem, so proper mirror cleaning is still important.

Cleaning experts say that most of us make the same mistake when it comes to caring for mirror surfaces. OBOZ.UA tells you how to avoid it and how to properly clean them to a shine.

Even if your mirror does not accumulate dust and you manage not to leave fingerprints on it, it still suffers from water splashes, toothpaste drops, sticky hair products and other contaminants. All these stains need to be dissolved with a cleaning product and then properly wiped off.

The best glass cleaners are not only easy to use. They also quickly remove all common stains, degrease, and give the surface a beautiful shine. For example, you can use a mixture of white vinegar and water. Mix them in equal proportions and pour them into a spray bottle. It is better to use distilled water for glass cleaning. It does not contain salts that can settle in the form of lime.

You can also choose any of the ready-made products on the market. They are based on alcohols, acids, and organic solvents. Some of them also protect surfaces from fogging, which can be very convenient for cleaning bathroom mirrors.

In any case, it is important to use such a product correctly. Start by spraying it onto a clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. Glass cleaners can be applied directly to the mirror, but most of them run off too quickly.

Wipe the mirror with a damp cloth or towel, starting at the top and working your way down. Make S-shaped movements as you do so. Never rub the glass in a circular motion. This creates a static charge that attracts dust.

If there are stains on the mirror, such as dried toothpaste or hairspray, it is better to spray them separately with a cleaner and rub them. Ideally, this should be done before you wipe the entire surface.

Finally, polish the mirror with a dry microfiber. Look at the surface straight on and then from an angle to make sure you haven't left any streaks. If you notice anything, wipe the problem area with a dry cloth.
