Lithuania is ready to support Ukraine and provide equipment for the restoration of TPPs. In particular, the country's authorities are considering the possibility of transferring another powerful autotransformer.

This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko following an online meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart Dainius Kreivis. The parties discussed, among other things, assistance to the Ukrainian energy sector.

For his part, Dainius Kreivis emphasized that Lithuania is ready to support Ukraine and provide equipment that will help with restoration and repair work.

During the meeting, Halushchenko briefed the Lithuanian minister on the consequences of recent Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector.

"The enemy has changed its tactics, and the current attacks have much more serious consequences for us. Thermal power generation has been seriously damaged, and the enemy regularly shells hydroelectric generation facilities and substations," he said.

The parties agreed that a group of energy specialists from Ukrainian state-owned and private companies would soon visit Lithuania. Ukrainian experts will visit Lithuanian energy facilities to verify the equipment that will be subsequently transferred to the Ukrainian energy sector.

In particular, it is large-sized equipment for thermal power plants, which is extremely important for Ukraine, which has lost a significant amount of thermal generation due to enemy shelling.

Herman Halushchenko thanked Lithuania for its support.

"Your assistance is of great importance to us. We have already received two powerful autotransformers and 72 cargoes with other necessary power equipment weighing over 1,300 tons from Lithuanian power engineers," he emphasized.

At the same time, Dainius Kravis noted that Lithuania is considering the possibility of transferring another powerful autotransformer.

For his part, Herman Halushchenko emphasized that it is very important to increase the capacity of distributed generation before the start of the heating season.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, one of the strongest attacks on the energy system took place on March 22.

"However, despite all the efforts of the enemy, the power industry of the whole country managed to provide people with electricity and avoid mass blackouts," said Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Grids.
