Anti-trends for spring 2024: what outerwear is long overdue for throwing away. How to replace it

Some of the trends of the past regained their "glory" in 2024. For example, duffle coats (single-breasted woolen coats with a straight silhouette and a hood) and insulated tweed jackets appeared on the shelves of brands. However, this does not mean that old fashion trends will "pull" other, long-forgotten ones.

1. Collarless coat

Never buy a jacket made of crumpled, too thin leather, with rhinestones, with creases in the area of fastening accessories or a silhouette cut. Such an upgrade will ruin your look. But an oversized product made of thick leather and in a classic palette (graphite, black, mocha, milk, caramel, or sand) will be a profitable investment in your wardrobe.

3. Short puffer vest

Fashionistas often complement their tracksuits, denim overalls, hoodies, and casual dresses with a short puffy vest. However, this stylization is a bad decision: it distorts the silhouette of the figure. What to choose instead? A long quilted vest or bomber jacket that will organically fit into a sporty or casual style.

4. Fitted short jacket

In the noughties, girls wore them with a short top or a cropped T-shirt. All in order to slightly expose the stomach and back. Nowadays, such outerwear is considered impractical, because the jacket should protect from the cold and wind. It is better to pay attention to elongated models with a straight or loose cut and without unnecessary accessories.

5. Coat above the knees

This style spoils the proportions of the body: it makes the legs visually look shorter than they actually are. Therefore, it is advisable to rely on maxi or midi coats, which will not soon leave the trends. If you're tired of classic colors, try adding a blue, red, emerald, or pistachio model to your outfit.
