An explosion was heard in Rostov

An explosion was heard in the city of Rostov-on-Don in the aggressor country of Russia on Sunday evening, June 16. After that, part of the city was left without electricity and water.

This was reported by Russian propaganda outlets on Telegram. According to Russian resources, an "accident" allegedly occurred at a power substation. The network published footage showing smoke and fire.

The media of the aggressor country claim that residents of the city saw a "big flash" at the substation in the area of Malinovsky Street. After that, "lights flickered" in apartments and houses.

Rostovvodokanal confirmed that most of the city's residents do not have water. The organization explained this as a "malfunction of pumping equipment" due to a "short-term power outage." They added that there may be water supply interruptions in all areas of the city.

They also said that normal water supply would be restored within 2-2.5 hours. At the same time, the water utility did not explain why there was a "malfunction of the pumping equipment".

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on June 16, several prisoners took two employees of the detention center hostage in SIZO-1 in Rostov. Negotiations were held with the invaders - six convicts, some of whom were held under a "terrorist" article for their involvement in ISIS - demanding a car, weapons and the opportunity to leave without hindrance, but Russian security forces eventually launched an assault.
