Where to relax in Khmelnytskyi region

You don't have to go to Odesa to have a good time. There are many picturesque locations in Ukraine that will not leave you indifferent. We'll tell you where to go for a summer weekend below.

Burbun Waterfall, Lysets village

A natural gem is hidden in a cozy corner of the Bobrivka River canyon. A five-meter waterfall falls into a small lake with clear turquoise water. It is surrounded on all sides by rocks covered with mosses and ferns. The water temperature here is always low, even on hot summer days. This is due to the special composition of the rocks from which the gorge was formed.

Previously, only locals knew about this cozy place, but today the waterfall has become a real tourist mecca. Travelers from all over the country come here to feel united with nature and enjoy the unforgettable scenery.

The best time to visit is on weekdays, when there are fewer crowds. Benches with tables were set up near the location. An area with piers and a bungee jump has been set up near the pond itself. There is a camping area upstream, and a spring with crystal clear water nearby.

How to get there. From Khmelnytskyi, you need to travel 83 kilometers by car, which is about 1.5 hours. Or you can take a bus to the village and walk from there.

Malievetsky waterfall

Once upon a time, ancient Russian tribes lived here. Later, in the XII century, these lands became the property of the famous Polish family of Orlowski. The family built a palace here and arranged a park. There is a legend that the treasures of wealthy owners are hidden here. And at night you can hear quiet voices leading to the caches of gold and jewelry.

The artificial waterfall is located on a rock 18 meters high. It is considered the highest in Podillia. There is also a cave where an ancient early Slavic monastery once existed. It is widely believed that the famous ataman Ustym Karmaliuk hid from persecution in this dungeon.

Blue Lakes, Stryhany village

The lakes were formed on the site of former quarries. They are famous for their clean, clear water and picturesque shores. The coasts are surrounded by a pine forest, among which there are birches. A variety of berries and rare plants grow here: round-leaved sundew, prickly pear, blueberries, blueberries, etc. The area is also home to pike, crucian carp, perch, carp, crayfish, and wild ducks and swans.

How to get there? It will take more than 2 hours to get there by car from Khmelnytskyi. Suburban buses also run here.

Bakota, Kolodiivka village

The first written mention of the flooded settlement dates back to 1024. However, archaeological research indicates that people inhabited these lands long before that. The bay of the same name is part of the Podilski Tovtry National Nature Park.

We recommend trying SUP-surfing, boat, catamaran or yacht trips. It is also a great place to practice diving. We also recommend a paragliding flight. From the height, you will have an incredible view of the reservoir. Tourists often come here for several days with tents. The peculiarity of this area is the fabulous sunsets.

For swimming, we recommend choosing the Bilohirsk beach. It has a relatively gentle entrance to the water. But keep in mind that the shore and bottom are mostly rocky.

If you have more time, be sure to visit the Kamianets-Podilskyi fortress. In the XX century, the building took part in two World Wars, and the city itself was proclaimed the capital of the Ukrainian People's Republic.

By the way, the location has repeatedly become a movie set for films. Here were filmed shots from the films The Ballad of Ivanhoe, Bohdan Zynoviy Khmelnytsky, and The Duma of Taras Bulba.

How to get there? The best way is to take your own car or an organized tour. There are also regular buses from Khmelnytskyi. If you are traveling by car, you will have to leave it in a special parking lot and then walk.

Ukraine fascinates with its natural wonders. Call your friends and go on a vacation.
