Alternative to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh: where to relax in Egypt without the crowds of tourists

Egypt is a country that has always attracted tourists from all over the world. The Red Sea and its unique and rich history have not left any tourist indifferent.

As a rule, travelers choose popular destinations such as Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh for their vacation. However, Express told us about a resort that is no worse, but not filled with crowds.

The picturesque Egyptian Dahab is located just an hour's drive from some of the most popular tourist resorts in the country. The name of the seaside city means "gold" in Arabic. Unlike Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, there are not many five-star hotels there, but local cafes and restaurants offer a worthy alternative.

The city is divided into three parts. Masbat, including the Bedouin village of Asalah in the north, Mashraba, a more touristy area with many hotels in the south, and Medina.

The city used to be visited mainly by tourists who prefer adventure and wild backpacking, but thanks to good connections to the airport city and the development of hotels in the Medina area, it is now more accessible and comfortable than ever.

From laid-back beach vacations to mountain adventures, every traveler will find something to their liking in Dahab. The city is also known for its diving sites and unrivaled coral reefs, making it a hot spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, and freediving.

You can get to Dahabi by taking a flight to Sharm el-Sheikh and then a bus from there. Also, some travelers choose to fly to Cairo first, but in this case, the land trip will take about 10 hours.
