When planning a trip, everyone usually hopes for sunny and calm weather. However, in some cities you are almost guaranteed to experience precipitation, especially outside of the summer season.

If you're not a fan of atmospheric rain adventures, bad weather can have a significant impact on your plans. That's why Holidu conducted a study and identified the wettest places on the continent.

We analyzed the average number of rainy days per month and the amount of precipitation in European cities. The results revealed that the wettest cities on the continent have an average of 13 days of precipitation per month.

Bergen, Norway

The northern region of Europe, the Norwegian city of Bergen, has become the rainiest place. On average, 13 rainy days are recorded here every month, and the amount of precipitation per day reaches 9 mm. However, Norwegians often repeat the saying: "There is no bad weather, only bad clothes," so an umbrella and a waterproof raincoat are mandatory travel companions.

Sunderland, England

The northeastern city of Sunderland is the wettest in the UK and has an average of 11 rainy days per month. Despite the bad weather, this place attracts tourists with its picturesque beaches, which are not so crowded due to precipitation. The winter months are especially rainy, when the number of wet days increases to 15.

Glasgow, Scotland

The Scottish city of Glasgow is another city where tourists should always be prepared for rain. On average, there are 11 days of precipitation per month. As with other northern cities, the winter months are particularly wet.
