Affordable Toyota Corolla fails road test

Affordable hatchback Toyota Corolla, in addition to a pleasant price, has several advantages. Experts found out in a road test that handling is not one of its strongest qualities.

The authors of the km77.com YouTube channel checked the new Toyota Corolla 200H GR Sport 2023 model year in a couple of important handling tests. The results did not please.

In the slalom, the compact hatchback overcame the obstacle course in 24.5 seconds. That was slower than the class leaders, indicating that the chassis is not very well tuned.

The second test is the so-called moose test. This test shows the controllability of the car in extreme situations, when it is necessary to bypass a sudden obstacle, not to catch it and return to the original trajectory.

Specialists require cars to pass this test at a speed not lower than 77 km / h. However, Toyota Corolla coped at a maximum speed of 76 km/h. It was not possible to accelerate faster and pass the test.
