A warhead of the latest Russian X-69 missile was found in Kyiv. Details and photos

In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, a warhead of an X-69 missile was found in a forest area. To neutralize the explosive find, sappers were called to the scene.

This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service. Residents of the capital were once again urged not to ignore the air raid alert.

"In the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, a local resident noticed a suspicious object, similar to a rocket part, sticking out of the ground in a forest. The sappers of the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine thoroughly examined the area, removing the warhead of the X-69 precision-guided missile," the press service said.

The SES added that since this is a newer weapon, it took longer for specialists to safely remove it from the ground, load it into a special vehicle, and transport it to the blast site.

The Kh-69 is a Russian high-precision, low-observable air-to-surface cruise missile. The Kh-69 is a further development of the Kh-59 missile. It is designed to engage ground stationary targets and surface targets that do not have radar, infrared and optical contrast to the surrounding background.

As a reminder, a warhead of a Russian X-101 missile was found in the Vyshhorod district of Kyiv region. The dangerous discovery was removed and destroyed by the State Emergency Service.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, a 120-mm artillery shell for the Nona self-propelled artillery system was found in Irpin, Kyiv region, during repair work on a railway track. Sappers were called to remove the dangerous find.
