Indonesia suffers from the eruption of Mount Laki Laki

Indonesia is suffering from the eruption of the Levotobi volcanoLaki Laki, which affected about 7 settlements. Officials reported that at least 10 people were killed, and as the disaster continues, they are urging people to evacuate villages near Laki Laki.

In the near future, the country may also suffer from earthquakes, as their risk has increased due to the volcano. According to The New York Times, the eruption has triggered more than a dozen earthquakes, but locals should expect more.

According to the Center for Volcanology and Geohazard Mitigation, the eruption of the Levotobi volcano Lucky Lucky lasted more than 24 minutes on Sunday, November 3, late in the evening. There were several more lava eruptions during the night, and by 6 a.m. on Monday, November 4, a column of smoke rose 300 meters high from the volcano.

According to the government, the natural disaster has affected seven villages. These settlements are home to about 10,000 people, so the authorities have warned local residents to evacuate more than 7 kilometers from the mountain.

Since the end of October, Mount Levotobi has erupted 43 times, and last week ash was thrown into the sky 800 meters above the summit.

Many of Indonesia's islands are located on the Ring of Fire, a place where tectonic plates collide. This natural phenomenon causes frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Last year, the activity of the Marakpi volcano killed more than 20 people.
