The Earth inhabitants will soon be able to witness one of the brightest constellations in the night sky. The nights are already getting longer, and thus better for stargazing.

This week, you will have a great opportunity to see for yourself. One of the brightest constellations in the night sky will be the Swan, which flies along the Milky Way, The Guardian writes.

The diagram shows a view of the southeastern sky at 20:30. The Swan is a large constellation that contains bright stars, so it can be easily identified even from urban areas where light pollution prevents fainter celestial objects from being seen.

The constellation has a distinctive shape that makes it easy to imagine it as a swan flying along the Milky Way. Its brightest star, Deneb, marks the tail and is also part of the Summer Triangle, a prominent asterism that includes Vega in Lyra and Altair in Orion.

In September, the Swan is well positioned for evening observing from the northern hemisphere, flying high in the sky just after sunset. If you watch from a dark place, you can also see the faint glow of the Milky Way passing through the Swan.
