On the night of May 17, powerful explosions occurred in the city of Novorossiysk in the territory of the aggressor country Russia (Krasnodar Territory). It was reported online that a port and an oil depot were allegedly targeted by UAVs.

Residents reported that the explosions were heard around 3:30. Telegram channels published footage of air defense and a fire in the port.

The "military commanders" of the aggressor country confirm the "arrivals" in Novorossiysk. Meanwhile, local residents counted at least 35 explosions. They claim that there were arrivals at the port and the oil depot.

Russian public media reports that drones have attacked the Novorossiysk fuel oil terminal and the "Transneft" terminal.

"Powerful pops and sounds similar to machine gun bursts began to be heard around 3 am in the area of the local port. Also, in several areas, the characteristic sounds of UAVs were heard," the propaganda outlets wrote.

The network also reported that the port of Novorossiysk was allegedly de-energized after the arrival.

Later, the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev, claimed that the Ukrainian attack was "unsuccessful." According to him, Russian air defense "suppressed" more than 10 drones, and "localized fires" occurred due to falling debris.

The deputy head of Novorossiysk, Oleksandr Yamenskov, reported a power outage in several districts at around 05:00. Also, public transportation in Novorossiysk was not working in the morning after the UAV attack and explosions, and Russians were asked not to leave their homes because of the danger.

"No one leaves the house. Neither to school nor to work," said the deputy head of Novorossiysk in a chat on his Telegram channel.

As of 6 a.m. in Novorossiysk, traffic on the previously blocked Magistralnaya Street was restored, public transportation returned to work, and residents were allowed to leave their homes.

The "Crimean Wind" Telegram channel reports that a fuel oil terminal was attacked in Novorossiysk.

"A fuel oil terminal in Novorossiysk has indeed been attacked, the "Crimean Wind" monitoring group reports. Satellite images show a fire, and the location of the point of impact, conducted by OSINTers, is 44.735376, 37.767643," the statement said.
