A number of international trains have been canceled due to floods: how trains are running as of September 16

Due to the floods in Poland and the Czech Republic, some international rail routes have been canceled or restricted, including flights between Prague and Przemysl. "Ukrzaliznytsia" cooperates with European operators and allows passengers to change trains for free in case of delays.

As of the morning of September 16, the severe weather situation in Poland and the Czech Republic due to flooding continues to affect international rail traffic. Here are the main updates as of Monday morning:

• Vienna – Kyiv – Vienna route: due to flooding in some areas, the route is limited. Trains are running as Budapest – Kyiv – Budapest, bypassing the problematic regions. This allows passengers to maintain the ability to travel between Ukraine and Austria, although they should be prepared for minor delays and route changes;
• Chop – Vienna (with Hungarian Intercity cars): this train has also been subject to restrictions. It currently runs only to Budapest, as some sections of the route remain flooded. Passengers are advised to consider possible transfers or alternative routes;
• Prague – Przemysl – Prague: although trains depart from their original stations as scheduled, passengers will have to change to buses on the flooded border section between Hranice na Morave and Rybnik;
• Prague – Chop: the train from Prague to Chop is being detoured, which leads to a two-hour delay in arrival from the scheduled time. However, upon arrival in Chop, the train will continue to run as scheduled. Ukrainian passengers can count on keeping to the schedule on the Chop-Kyiv section;
• other international flights: the good news is that all trains connecting Ukraine with such cities as Warsaw, Chełm, Przemysl, Kosice, Budapest, and Záhony are running without changes.

Ukrainian Railways is in constant communication with Czech and Polish carriers to coordinate the organization of connections. Passengers who miss their trains due to delays in the Czech Republic and Poland have the opportunity to use any subsequent flight in the same direction without the need to exchange tickets. This allows for flexibility in the event of unforeseen circumstances caused by the elements.

In particular, train №59/60 from Chop to Kyiv will be waiting for passengers traveling from Prague. This applies to both flights arriving today and those expected tomorrow. Thus, passengers will be able to reach Kyiv on time despite delays.

Passengers traveling on connecting flights to Prague or other European cities are advised to contact their railway operators – Czech or Polish – to clarify the details of the schedule. In some cases, it may be necessary to spend the night in the city of connection, as the likelihood of further delays remains high due to the difficult infrastructure situation.
