The beauty of the power of nature is amazing

It is thanks to the fact that Ukrainians bought cameras for further family memories that we can see various places and events related to Kyiv. In particular, in 1976, an unknown amateur photographer in the Solomianskyi district took a picture of a thunderstorm that was raging over the capital of Ukraine.

The old photo was published on the Telegram channel of the History of Solomyansky District community. The beauty of nature's power is impressive.

"Thunderstorm over the city. 1976. The photo was taken from Solomianska Street 41/2," the post reads.

Despite the fact that the community posted a black-and-white photo, one can fully see the power of the elements that were raging in Kyiv at the time.

As a reminder, the village of Darnytsia Carriage Repair Plant, better known as DVRZ, was founded in Kyiv in 1934. At that time, these were two- or three-story buildings that looked almost like palaces due to their stucco moldings and appearance.

The capital's Rusanivka residential area is completely surrounded by an artificial canal, which gave this area the popular name of "Kyiv Venice". In the 1980s, a series of photographs were taken here that captured the beauty of this location.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, in 1970 the water level in the Dnipro River in Kyiv was very low. Because of this, large shoals could be seen between the islands located between the left and right banks of the city.
