A new breed of cat, the Transylvanian, has been introduced in Romania. This breed was the first to emerge naturally in the Carpathians.

The Transylvanian cat has already gained international recognition. However, its official approval is expected in two years, when the 4th generation of these cats will be born, Romania TV reports.

The Transylvanian cat is an ancient breed based on pure bloodlines found in the Carpathian Mountains. "It is healthy, with extremely good genetic baggage," said Alexandru Elian, director of cat exhibitions.

The cat expert also said that Transylvanian cats have lighter limbs than the main color of their fur. The males, on the other hand, have darker limbs. Elian compared the fur of the new breed of cats to salt and pepper because white strands go next to black ones.

"I also discovered that they have a special temperament. Free-range cats can often be quite aggressive. However, Transylvanian cats are not aggressive at all, they are incredible," Alexandru Elian emphasized.

According to scientists, a new breed of cat can arise naturally through evolutionary changes that occur as a result of natural selection. In a certain geographical area, such as the Carpathians, a cat population can adapt to specific environmental conditions, such as climate, food availability, and shelter.

Cats with genetic traits that match these conditions have a better chance of survival and reproduction. Over generations, these characteristics can be fixed in the offspring, leading to the emergence of a new breed with unique physical and behavioral traits that distinguish it from other breeds.
