How not to unfasten seat belts

Seat belts must not be neglected, and this applies to both drivers and passengers in the back seat. The current legislation provides for fines for not wearing a seat belt. The usual fine is 510 hryvnias, but if the violation led to an accident, the amount increases significantly: up to 2400-8500 hryvnias.

It often happens that drivers and passengers unbuckle their seat belts incorrectly, and this mistake can even damage the car. Read OBOZREVATEL's article on how not to unfasten seat belts.

If you unbuckle the belt incorrectly, there is a risk that it will become distorted. In this way, the buckle can "pop out" as soon as the door is opened. Then, when closing the door, the driver or passenger is likely to hit the latch with their hands, which will damage the paintwork. In addition, the belt itself can break.

Experts advise removing the device carefully, without sudden movements, and make sure that it returns to its correct starting position. Only then can you open the door and get out of the car.

By the way, there is another rule that drivers often violate, sometimes without even realizing it. There is an unwritten custom of thanking or showing courtesy by turning on the hazard lights while driving. This long-standing tradition of drivers can have unpleasant consequences.

As previously reported by OBOZREVATEL, Ukrainian drivers earned several hundred million hryvnias in fines over the year.
