A 50-year-old British woman found a family treasure: her parents said they had no money but were secretly collecting antiques

After the death of her parents, a 50-year-old British woman discovered that her family was not poor as she had always thought. When she was dismantling the house, she came across a collection of antiques, rare coins, and expensive porcelain.

Saved on everything and urged not to spend too much

In addition to valuables, the British woman found bank checks for significant amounts.

The woman was surprised because she had heard all her life from her parents about financial difficulties. They constantly complained about the hard times and the need to save. They often mentioned the difficulties associated with the war and urged their daughter not to spend too much.

What upset her the most was that her parents did not support her in her youth, despite their hidden savings. At the same time, they bought expensive toys, the first computers and video games for her younger brother, who was often sick.

"I'm angry and upset because of the big difference between what they said and what really happened," the British woman wrote.
