Who What Wear talked to experts to find out which hairstyles look expensive and suit any hair length. The selection includes both trendy haircuts and timeless classics.

Butterfly haircut

One of the most trendy haircuts of 2023 called the butterfly has become a popular choice among experts. "I'm a big fan of the butterfly haircut because it creates an elite look, and it's currently very popular among my celebrity clients," says Bernardo Vasconcelos, stylist and Living Proof ambassador.

"The butterfly cut is a combination of short and long layers to create shape and volume around the face, which emphasizes the features and gives a more sophisticated look," Vasconcelos explains.

The classic bob

A timeless haircut that helps to create a luxurious look.

"A bob of the same length, perfectly trimmed and in great condition, looks very expensive," says Michael Landon, Aveda's creative director. "It shows that you've spent time and money on care but without being pompous."

Layering

This year, the 90s-inspired layered style has become especially popular on TikTok.

"Layering is an expensive-looking cut that helps add volume to hair," explains Robbie Purves, hair expert at FFØR. "The effect is to make the strands look lush and add lightness and texture to the hairstyle.

Blunt cut

When it comes to expensive haircuts for short hair, the micro-bob and blunt cut remain the leaders. "This cut can be worn straight or with waves," Ferraira says.

French bob

Voluminous and chic, the French bob dominated the lists of trendy hairstyles for 2023. "It's very stylish and easy to maintain, which gives you an expensive look," explains Limoz Logli, a London-based color specialist.

Framed face

"From the mini bangs that blend perfectly with the strands near the face and frame the cheeks to long layers throughout the hair, this hairstyle has an expensive look," Landon says.

Long hair

It's no surprise that long hair is an easy way to an expensive look, provided you have the right look. Strands should be cut regularly and cared for to keep them in good condition.

"When it comes to specific hairstyles, long layers are a great choice because they give your hair volume and lightness," Ferraira says.
