Zelensky: underground weapons production is being built in Ukraine

Ukraine will produce its own weapons at underground factories. In addition to security concerns, one of the reasons for this decision is delays in the delivery of military aid.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky at the International Economic Forum in Italy. He also offered Italian business cooperation in the defense industry.

"We are building underground facilities for the production of weapons so that Ukrainian soldiers can defend themselves even when supplies from our partners are delayed," the head of state said.

The President noted that Italian business may be interested in cooperation with Ukraine - first of all in defense production, but also in machine building, energy, aerospace and IT industries.

Zelenskyy also added that Ukrainian specialists have already developed new drones and missiles, which, in particular, are used to bring the war back to Russia.

Separately, the president invited Italy to take part in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, because, according to him, the country will need not only to restore but also to build a qualitatively new economy and modern infrastructure.

"The reconstruction of Ukraine should include the introduction of innovative technologies and modern infrastructure," he said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Zelensky met with a delegation of the US Congress led by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in Italy. The head of state discussed with the congressmen the consequences of Russian missile terror and the priority needs of the Ukrainian military.

The President also briefed the congressmen on the situation at the front, the results of the operation in the Kursk region and the consequences of Russian missile terror.

In Italy, Zelenskyy also allayed allies' fears that Ukraine might strike back at the Kremlin if it received permission to launch long-range strikes with Western weapons against targets in Russia. He assured them that this would not happen, as the range of the missiles transferred would not allow it.

At the Ambrosetti forum, Zelensky reminded the world of Russia's crimes against the Ukrainian people: since the beginning of September alone, the occupiers have massively fired missiles at Kharkiv, Poltava, Lviv, Kryvyi Rih, Kyiv, and other cities.
