Why people spend money on new iPhones: expert research

Apple presents new iPhones every year. It is believed that they are more reliable and convenient than smartphones, while the price of such a device is much higher.

Why do you need a new iPhone?

In 2023-2024, analysts conducted a series of studies to find out the reasons for the interest in iPhones. To do this, they carefully studied customer feedback and found that the main demand for these products is not created by new features of the devices. This factor is important for only 18% of users.

Experts sorted the main reasons for purchases by popularity, and here's what they came up with:

• The previous model is outdated.
• The old phone was lost (broken, stolen).
• The desire to get a phone with new features.

• Financial incentive from the operator.
• New network speeds (5G).
• The immediate environment uses an iPhone.

Thus, the most popular reason for buying a new iPhone (44% of respondents) was an outdated model.

The second (29%) was the loss, breakdown, or theft of the device.

This is followed by 18% of respondents who spend money to get new features.

Incentives from the operator, improved network quality, and the presence of an iPhone with friends or family members account for only 9%.
