This method involves sowing seeds directly into separate containers (pots or cassettes). Seedlings with a closed root system grow longer – 65-70 days.

To determine the optimal sowing time, you need to take into account the date of planting seedlings in open ground. This is usually done in mid-May, when the threat of frost has passed.

Example calculation:

If you plan to plant seedlings on May 20, then for seedlings with an open root system, sowing should be done on April 1 (50 days before planting). For seedlings with a closed root system – on March 10 (70 days before planting).

Many gardeners also focus on the lunar calendar when sowing seeds. Certain phases of the moon are believed to promote better germination and plant growth.
