What you need to feed eggplants with in hot July: tips for gardeners

Fresh eggplant is a wonderful vegetable that is easy to grow with your own hands in the garden. However, in order to produce a really good harvest, this crop needs timely fertilization.

Experienced gardeners say that eggplants grow better in hot and sunny weather, but they also need more food. The publication "Agronomist Yourself" tells you how to properly fertilize eggplants in the summer.

The optimum temperature for this plant is above +23-25 degrees. At night, it should be above +15. Then the fruits will ripen and fill up intensively. To make them taste as good as possible, the bushes need to be fertilized.

Eggplant is one of those crops that require nitrogen fertilizers throughout its life cycle. But during the fruiting period, they need to be combined with phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.

To feed the vegetable, you can make your own weed infusion. After collecting the weeds from the garden, put them in a bucket and cover them with water. Leave the mixture to infuse until it begins to ferment. When it does, the fertilizer is ready. Use a liter of infusion per 10 liters of clean water and water the eggplant with this mixture every 14 days.

It is also worth watering eggplants with wood ash at the root. Stir one glass of ash in 10 liters of water and let it brew for a day. Apply the product periodically with watering.

If you use ready-made mineral fertilizers, choose potassium-phosphorus mixtures. Dissolve one tablespoon of the selected product in a glass of hot water and pour it into 10 liters of clean water. This mixture is applied under the root of 1 liter per plant.

And don't forget to harvest on time. This allows you to increase the number of fruits that can be obtained from one bush. The first eggplants should be harvested even before they are fully ripe. This will accelerate the ripening of the rest of the ovary.
