What to make a pizza base from to make the dish healthy: the ingredient will surprise you

Classic pizza is a high-calorie dish made from yeast dough. But even if you want to enrich your diet with healthier foods, you will like this interpretation. For this original recipe, you will need cauliflower.

The idea of making a delicious healthy vegetable-based pizza was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Kateryna Movchan (katarina_movchan). The mass will keep its shape perfectly.

Ingredients for the base based on 2 pizzas:

  • cauliflower – 700 g
  • cheese – 100 g
  • eggs – 2 pcs
  • wheat bran – 2 tbsp (can be replaced with whole wheat flour)
  • dried oregano – 1 tsp
  • salt and pepper – to taste

Ingredients for the filling:

  • cheese
  • tomato sauce
  • sausage
  • mushrooms
  • dried basil or other ingredients to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (top-down mode with convection).

2. Grate the cauliflower on a fine grater or chop it in a food processor.

3. Add the eggs, bran, oregano, salt, pepper, and cheese to the cabbage.

4. Mix everything well. The consistency of the dough should resemble wet sand.

5. Cover a round baking dish with parchment.

6. Put half of the cabbage dough and smooth it out. You will get 2 pizzas in total.

7. Put in the oven to bake for 15 minutes.

8. Then take the base out of the oven, brush with tomato sauce, sprinkle with dried basil, put the sausage, and mushrooms, then sprinkle with cheese.

9. Put in the oven for another 7-10 minutes.
