Ukrainian benderyky with chicken and mushrooms: what to cook for the whole family to enjoy
Benderyky is a traditional Ukrainian dish in the form of pancakes wrapped in triangles with various fillings and fried in a pan. Most often, meat is used as a filling in this dish.
Food blogger Yulia Senych shared how to make benderyky on Instagram. She used chicken and mushrooms as the filling, which gave the dish a new, interesting flavor. Now the whole family will definitely enjoy it.
Ingredients for pancakes:
- Warm milk - 500 ml
- Eggs - 3 pcs
- Sugar - 2 tbsp
- Flour - 1.5 cups
- Oil - 2-3 tbsp
- Salt - a pinch
- Butter - for frying
Ingredients for the filling:
- Mushrooms - 150 g
- Hard cheese - 150 gr
- Spread or mayonnaise
- Chicken meat - 150 gr
- Onion - 1 pc
The way of cooking:
1. Prepare the pancakes. Combine eggs with sugar and salt.
2. Gradually add the sifted flour. Mix well with a whisk and pour in the slightly warm milk.
3. Mix until combined and add the oil at the end. Stir and leave the dough to rest for 15 minutes.
4. If there are lumps, beat with a blender.
5. Heat a frying pan until very hot. Add a piece of butter and fry the pancakes on both sides until cooked.
6. For the filling, fry the onion with meat and mushrooms until tender.
7. Divide each pancake in half, fold one edge over, and spread with the spread.
8. Put the filling and wrap it in a triangle.
9. Hide the tail inside the benderyky.
10. If desired, fry the benderyky in a preheated and greased frying pan until golden brown.
