Tourists come from all over the world: in a Polish village about 6000 people live on one street
The village of Sułoszowa near Krakow has become known worldwide for its unique layout. All the houses are located along one long street that stretches for 9 kilometers.
Each house offers a magnificent view of the surrounding nature. The village is often called "Little Tuscany" because of its similarity to this picturesque region of Italy. The details were reported by the Express.
The village has a long history that dates back to the Middle Ages. It is known that the first mention of Sułoszowa dates back to the XIV century. Due to its geographical location, it has always played an important role in the region's agriculture. Today, it is home to about 6,000 people who preserve traditions and develop the tourist infrastructure.
"Sułoszowa seems to be immersed in nature, with lots of forests and fields. We have become known all over the world thanks to the images taken by the drone... This layout was developed historically, when it was easier for people to live on one street, mainly because of the road connection," said Katarzyna Bieda from the Gmina Sułoszowa council, the administrative district to which the village belongs.
In addition to its unique layout, Sułoszowa also boasts natural and historical attractions. The village is located near the Ojców National Park, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Poland. Here you can see picturesque cliffs, caves, and medieval castles, including the Pieskowa Skała castle.
"Every year, especially in spring and summer, many tourists visit our village because of the local landscape, but also because of tourist attractions such as the famous rock called Maczuga Herkulesa," commented Katarzyna.
"Bludgeon of Hercules" (Maczuga Herkulesa) is one of the most famous geological monuments in Poland, located near Sułoszowa. It is a limestone rock that resembles a stick or mace in shape. The rock is about 25 meters high, and it stands on a very narrow base, which gives the impression of its instability.
This unique natural attraction is located next to Pieskowa Skała castle and is part of the picturesque "Trail of the Eagle's Nests" – a route of medieval castles stretching across southern Poland.
Local cliffs, ravines, and about 400 caves located in the area are also the main attractions for tourists.
