There are more vacancies than people willing to work: the areas in which employers compete for employees are named
In Ukraine, there are less than 14 resumes for 10 vacancies in construction. And in the hotel and restaurant business, there are generally more vacancies than resumes. There are less than 7 resumes for 10 vacancies. In fact, a third of jobs may remain unfilled. A significant problem is also observed in logistics: there are less than 8 resumes for 10 vacancies.

In the field of safety and security, the ratio of vacancies to resumes is 10 to 5. That is, every second vacancy may remain open. For comparison, back in 2021, before the great war, in September, there were almost 23 resumes for 10 vacancies in logistics (now there are 8). That is, then Ukrainians were competing for jobs, and now employers are forced to compete for workers.
The category with the largest number of vacancies, "hotel and restaurant business, tourism," was included in the list of areas with the lowest competition. At the same time, job seekers are competing for telecommuting jobs, according to a study by Work.ua analysts.
Most candidates arrived in the frontline regions: Kherson (+4%), Zaporizhzhia (+4%), Mykolaiv (+3%), and Odesa (+2%) regions. There was a noticeable increase in the number of job seekers in the categories of Education and Science (+7% of candidates) and Culture, Music, and Show Business (+4%), which saw the largest increase in job offers in August.
The downward trend in the number of young people in the labor market began in July and continued throughout August. This is due to the end of student vacations. Statistics show that the number of workers under the age of 18 decreased by 36%. The number of job seekers aged 18 to 24 also decreased by 7%. A related trend is a 12% decrease in job seekers without experience.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the State Employment Center published more than 266 thousand vacancies. International organizations and companies also post their vacancies on the unified portal of the government agency. Most of them offer salaries starting at UAH 50 thousand.
