The power is impressive: Peugeot has launched the e-408 all-electric SUV
The French car brand Peugeot has updated its popular 408 fastback to a fully electric version. The Peugeot e-408 crossover SUV has finally seen the light of day and impressed with its performance.
According to Top Gear, the electric car is equipped with a 61 kWh battery that powers a 213 hp electric motor. At the same time, the new battery is more capacious than the 308's, as the longer wheelbase of 2.79 m made it possible to place more NMC battery cells in the floor.
The new model inherits a "cat-like" appearance from the front and rear.

The range of the new model is 435 km and it can offer three driving modes for different situations. Normal offers 193 hp, the economical Eco reduces the power to 173 hp, and Sport brings it up to 213 hp. The maximum charging power is 120 kW, which means that the car can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in half an hour.
In terms of design, the new model has the same "feline" appearance that we have already seen on the hybrid versions of the Peugeot 408. The front has a sleek radiator grille surrounded by fancy fang-like headlights. At the rear, the Peugeot is adorned with cat-eared rear parts and claw-like taillights.

There are two car variants available: Allure and GT. Inside, the car has a heated steering wheel and seats as standard. The i-Cockpit infotainment system features a 10-inch high-definition center display with customizable touchscreen shortcut buttons. In addition to TomTom navigation and remote updates, Peugeot has also equipped the e-408 with ChatGPT functionality. Artificial intelligence responds to the password "Ok Peugeot".
Although the GT trim offers no differences in terms of power, the front and rear windows and laminated side windows are even thicker for shock absorption and safety purposes. Also available are more fashionable headlights and an electric trunk door, while Apple Carplay and Android Auto, which are offered as standard, are combined with a more luxurious sound system and an improved driver assistance package.
