The perfect potato gratin: how to cook to make it divine
In fact, gratin is not a potato dish, but only a method of cooking it. To make gratin means to bake.
Celebrity chef Hector Jimenez-Bravo shared on Instagram how to gratinate potatoes so that they taste divine. As it turned out, there is nothing complicated about the process.
Ingredients
- Potatoes – 1 kg
- Salt
- Pepper
- Cream 33% – 300 ml
- Parmesan cheese – 50 gr
- Mozzarella – 50 gr
- Cheddar – 50 gr
- Bacon – 70 gr
- Onions – 1 pc
The way of preparation
1. Cut the potatoes into round slices.
2. Fry the bacon with onions.
3. Add grated cheese, three types at once, pour in the cream, add salt and pepper.
4. Pour the fried bacon and onions into a bowl, add the potatoes and mix well.
5. Put everything in a baking dish greased with butter, pour the rest of the cream sauce.
6. Bake for 1.5 hours at 180 degrees.
7. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until golden brown.
