The National Bank has started selling a commemorative 5 UAH coin for 161 UAH per piece. It is dedicated to the Cossack characters and is called "Neither bullet nor saber!".

This was reported by the NBU. They noted:

  • The coin was put into circulation on December 4, 2024.
  • The current round of sales started on January 21.

"The commemorative coin is dedicated to the legendary warriors of the Zaporozhian Sich - the Cossack characterists. These victorious warriors, shrouded in mystical glory, were distinguished by their unsurpassed skill in battle and mastery of weapons, which aroused fear among their enemies and admiration among their allies. Today, Ukrainian defenders, like their ancestors, demonstrate exceptional courage, resilience and loyalty to the Motherland, continuing the glorious traditions of the Cossacks," the regulator said about the coin.

Where to buy the coin

The commemorative coins "Neither Bullet nor Saber!" in their original packaging are already available in the NBU's online numismatic products store. The price is UAH 161. As the NBU previously reported, they will also be available at distributor banks:

  • Ukrgasbank;
  • Tascombank
  • PrivatBank
  • Oschadbank;
  • PUMB.

What the coin looks like

The obverse (front side) of the coin depicts a stylized figure of a soldier in the center of the composition, carefully holding and protecting the small State Emblem of Ukraine. On the matte background are enemy bullets that bounce off the soldier, never hitting the Ukrainian soul. Below the coat of arms:

  • the inscription "UKRAINE";
  • denomination 5;
  • graphic symbol of the hryvnia;
  • minted in 2024.

The reverse side features a stylized image of a Cossack character protecting a bird, a symbol of freedom that visually resembles a trident, against a mirror background. On the matte background are broken enemy sabers, "powerless before the unbreakable love for the native land and the desire for freedom."

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, the National Bank has put into circulation a new commemorative 5 UAH coin. It is dedicated to the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
