The most juicy homemade cabbage rolls: be sure to prepare a hearty dish for lunch
Stuffed cabbage is one of the most popular Ukrainian dishes. It is perfect for a festive table and a hearty lunch. The most important thing is to prepare a juicy and tasty filling.
The idea of making the most delicious homemade cabbage rolls for lunch was published on the Instagram page of food blogger favorite recipess. You need to steam the cabbage properly, and be sure to pre-boil the rice.
Ingredients:
- cabbage - 1 pc.
- minced pork - 500 g
- dry rice - 200 g
- onions - 2 pcs.
- carrots - 2 pcs.
- sour cream - 2 tbsp
- tomato paste - 2 tbsp
- flour - 1 tbsp
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- salt, black pepper
- water - 800 ml
- oil
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the cabbage until the leaves are soft, cut out the middle.
2. Boil the rice until tender.
3. Fry the chopped onion in vegetable oil until golden brown, add the grated carrots and fry for another 5-7 minutes.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the minced meat, cooked rice, half of the frying oil, salt and black pepper.
5. Stir and roll the cabbage rolls – about one spoonful of minced meat for each piece of cabbage.
6. Put the cabbage rolls in a saucepan, put the rest of the roast on top, and pour the sauce. For the sauce, mix tomato paste, sour cream, flour, sugar, salt, and water.
7. If there are cabbage leaves left, put them on top of the cabbage rolls.
8. Cook under the lid for at least an hour.
