The most delicious pickled cabbage "Petal" with beets: what marinade to cook an appetizer with
"Petal" cabbage is a popular Ukrainian appetizer. The vegetable is very juicy and crispy at the same time. It is perfect for potatoes, any meat, and garnishes.
The idea of making pickled cabbage "Petals" was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Valentyna Saienko. It's a very simple marinade.
Ingredients:
- cabbage – 1.3-1.5 (it is better to take the old, young will not be so crunchy)
- beets – 1 large
- chili pepper – 5 g
- garlic – 4 cloves
- bay leaf – 2 pcs
- water – 1 liter
- salt – 3 tbsp
- sugar – 4 tbsp
- vinegar 9% – 150 ml
- vegetable oil – 50
- allspice – 2-3 pcs
Method of preparation:
1. Remove the top leaves from the cabbage.
2. Slice in half and cut out the head of cabbage.
3. Cut the cabbage into fairly large pieces of 2-3 cm.
4. Cut the beets fairly.
5. Cut the garlic into slices.
6. Put everything in layers in a 3-liter jar, tamp a little.
7. For the solution, mix all the ingredients and bring to a boil.
8. Pour the hot brine over the cabbage.
9. If you thrombosed well, the brine should cover everything. If not, you should press it down a little.
10. Let it cool in the heat and put it in the cold for a day.
