The characters of the USS Callister episode will return in the seventh season of Black Mirror: the first frame has appeared
Although Netflix's cult sci-fi series Black Mirror creates all its episodes as an anthology, without returning to old characters and plots, it seems that we are about to see the first sequel in its history. Namely, the continuation of the episode "USS Callister", which was released in December 2017.
The platform has confirmed the return of the characters from the debut episode of the fourth season in the seventh installment of the show, which is due out later this year. The footage featuring Nanette Cole, played by actress Christine Milioti, was spotted in the preview of Netflix's 2025 projects by users of the social network X (formerly Twitter). The fragment was included in a video created for users from the UK and Ireland. The video was later removed.
USS Callister episode parodied the Star Trek science fiction franchise and won many awards. It starred actors such as Jesse Plemons, Christine Milioti, Billy Magnussen, and Jimmy Simpson. At the time, Black Mirror fans noted that the idea deserved a sequel, if not a separate spinoff.
Now some details of the sequel plot are known. After the fall of the sinister Captain Daly, played by Plemons, Nanette will appear in a simulation of a certain video game. It's worth recalling here that the "USS Callister" episode ends with Plemons' character dying at the hands of Nanette and other crew members whom he turned into digital clones.
It is already known that, in addition to Milioti, Simpson and Magnussen will return to Black Mirror. Netflix has not yet disclosed any other details.
