Stewed cucumbers: a forgotten recipe for an authentic dish
Cucumber is an indispensable companion of the first month of summer. This vegetable can be used to make many different salads and appetizers. It is also easy enough to pickle to enjoy its interesting flavor throughout the winter.
Journalist Kostiantyn Hrubych recently posted a recipe for stewed cucumbers on his YouTube channel. This is a long-forgotten authentic dish based on a recipe by Daria Tsviek that is definitely worth trying.
Ingredients:
- Cucumbers - 1 kg.
- Sweet peppers - 3-4 pcs.
- Sour cream - 100 gr.
- Flour - 1 tsp.
- Butter - 50 gr.
- Salt
- Pepper
- Dill
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the cucumbers and cut them into cubes.
2. Bring the water in a saucepan to a boil and add the cucumbers. Cook for 5 minutes.
3. Peel and dice the peppers. Fry in a frying pan with butter.
4. Combine the flour with the sour cream and mix thoroughly.
5. Put the cucumbers in the pan with the pepper. Add salt, pepper, and your favorite spices.
6. Remove the dish from the heat and mix with sour cream and flour.
