Spectacular "Honey Cherry" cake: tastier than "Prague Cake"

It's time to use the cherries you harvested in the summer for the winter. They are perfect for making the Honey Cherry cake. It is based on tender and juicy honey cakes and nuts. This dessert can become a competitor to the popular Prague cake.

The idea of making the Honey Cherry cake was published on the smakoluk.ua culinary page on Instagram. The cream is made with butter and condensed milk.

Ingredients for chocolate and honey cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 0.5 cups of sugar
  • 0.5 cups of honey
  • 3 tbsp of oil
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 2 tbsp with a slide of cocoa
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of nuts

Ingredients for the honey cherry cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 0.5 cups of sugar
  • 0.5 cups of honey
  • 3 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • 1.25 cups of flour
  • 0.5 l can of cherries

Ingredients for the cream:

  • 400 g. butter
  • 0.5 l of boiled condensed milk

For the impregnation:

  • juice from the cherries

Preparation of chocolate and honey cake:

1. Stir the eggs with a whisk with sugar, add honey and oil, stir again.

2. Mix the sifted cocoa, flour and baking soda.

3. Add the bulk ingredients to the egg and honey mixture. Mix until smooth.

4. Pour the dough onto a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Smooth it out. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

5. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven until a toothpick comes out dry (about 15-20 minutes). Cool and cut across.

Preparation of the honey-cherry cake:

1. The method of preparation is the same as for the chocolate and honey cake. Only add cherries on top instead of nuts and do not add cocoa. Cool and cut across.

The method of preparation of the cream:

1. Whip the butter at room temperature into a fluffy white mass (to be perfect, then about 7-10 minutes), then add condensed milk also at room temperature and it is important that the cream does not stratify.

How to assemble the cake:

  • cream
  • dark cake

After assembling, refrigerate the cake for 12-24 hours.
