Toyota's sought-after low-cost models have allowed the company to secure first place in global statistics for the fifth year in a row
Toyota recently reported about high sales, which allowed the company to lead the global statistics. This was largely due to low-cost models that dominate many markets and are the brand's backbone.
According to Motor1, Toyota sold 10,159,336 vehicles in 2024. The final figure is based on subsidiary brands Lexus, Daihatsu, and Hino.
The Japanese manufacturer has dominated global statistics for the fifth year in a row. This makes Toyota the largest automotive company even though sales decreased by 3.7% compared to 2023.
Volkswagen took second place. In 2024, the manufacturer sold 9,239,500 vehicles. This is the total statistics of the VW Group, which includes many brands.
It is expected that Hyundai/Kia will take the third position in the ranking with a final sales result of 7.23 million in 2024.
