Simple and satisfying salmon pie: easy to prepare
Salmon pie is a truly exquisite dish that you can easily prepare at home. It is based on shortcrust pastry, which is perfectly kneaded and rolled out. It goes well with a delicious and very juicy filling.
The idea of making a hearty red fish pie was published on the Instagram page of a food blogger with the nickname tastystories.feed. The dish is quite satisfying and light at the same time.
Ingredients for the dough:
- flour – 300 g
- butter – 75 g
- sour cream – 150 g
- baking powder – 1 tsp
- salt – 0.5 tsp
Ingredients for the filling:
- red fish – 400 g
- leek – 1 pc
- spinach – 150 g
- eggs – 3 pcs.
- cream 20% – 100 ml
- hard cheese – 100 g
- salt
Method of preparation:
1. Knead the dough with sifted flour, baking powder, butter, sour cream, and salt.
2. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3. While the dough is cooling, boil the eggs, chop the leeks, and simmer with butter until soft.
4. Add spinach, cream, and salt.
5. Simmer for another 5 minutes and cool.
6. Finely chop the eggs and combine them with the stewed vegetables and grated cheese.
7. Peel and bone the red fish, cut it into slices, and add salt.
8. Roll out most of the dough, put it into a mold (with sides), fill with the filling, and add the fish on top.
9. Cover with a smaller portion of the dough, pinch the edges tightly, and make cuts to allow steam to escape.
10. Brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven to 170 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
