Russians hit Kharkiv's densely populated district with FAB-500: there are dead and destruction. Video
On October 8, Russian troops fired FAB-500 bombs at a densely populated area in the Saltovskyi district of Kharkiv. There were damaged high-rise buildings and at least two casualties, as well as five wounded civilians.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the mayor, Ihor Terekhov, confirmed the hits. The first explosion, according to local online communities, occurred around 16:55 on Tuesday. Smoke was then seen rising over the impact site.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the enemy had used adjusted aerial bombs in the direction of Kharkiv region at 16:49. 20 minutes later, the Russians launched again. Residents of the city heard explosions again.
As of 17:18, Terekhov had information about two dead. At 17:32, Syniehubov clarified: "The dead are civilians, a man, and a woman... People were on the street at that time".
At 18:29 the head of the regional state administration said that the victims were 70 years old. "The munition was FAB-500. The enemy also struck at Cherkaska Lozova. There were no casualties," he said.
Terekhov noted that at least 15 apartment buildings in Saltivskyi district were hit. "Tonight we will start closing the windows of the condominiums. And tomorrow morning, the ASC will start working on the spot, where people will be able to get help in preparing documents for E-Restoration," the mayor said.
Around 19:00 he published updated data: "The number of victims has increased to seven, two of whom are dead."
As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the morning of October 8, the Russian occupiers also carried out air strikes on Kharkiv. Then they damaged a civilian enterprise in the Industrial District. At least 28 people were injured.
