Russians dropped a missile on a residential area of Kharkiv: first details

On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 9, a Russian plane dropped a bomb on Kharkiv. It landed in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and the blast wave damaged residential buildings. A civilian was lightly injured.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported the shelling of the city at 15:29. "According to preliminary information, the attack was made on the area of dense residential buildings," he wrote on Telegram.

The mayor later said that the bomb fell in an open area. As of 15:50, there were no reports of injuries or casualties.

"Windows in nearby high-rise buildings were smashed," Terekhov said.

Around 16:00, Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, said that an 81-year-old woman was injured. She received light injuries with glass. The Kharkiv woman was not hospitalized.

It should be noted that the alarm in Kharkiv region began at 15:17 on Wednesday. During this period, explosions were heard not only in the regional center but also in other settlements.

Since the beginning of the day on October 9, this was the fifth alert that was introduced throughout the region.
