Russia has announced "progress in the development of a sixth-generation fighter jet." However, instead of a real image, they used an illustration generated by artificial intelligence.
The publication appeared on the page of the Russian propaganda channel RT on the social network X (formerly Twitter), according to "Agence. News." To illustrate the news about the alleged development of the aircraft by the "Sukhoi" Design Bureau, an image created by the Grok AI neural network was used, with its logo clearly visible in the lower right corner.
The RT article quotes an unnamed representative of the Sukhoi Design Bureau, who allegedly stated that the new fighter jet model has significant technological improvements. The source of this information was the TASS news agency, which quoted test pilot Sergei Bogdan. He spoke about a promising powerplant with improved thrust and low fuel consumption. However, instead of a technical drawing or a real image of the fighter concept, the channel used a generated image showing something similar to a Su-27 with a streamlined body and three engines.
It is noted that Russia's attempt to claim progress in the creation of a sixth-generation fighter looks like information manipulation against the backdrop of successful programs by the United States, Britain, Italy, Japan, and China. The US NGAD program and the GCAP consortium demonstrate real progress in future technologies. China has recently unveiled prototypes of new stealth aircraft. Against this background, the Russian news, supported only by artificial intelligence fantasies, is perceived as an attempt to keep up at least in the information field.
As a reminder, Russian propagandists have spread reports that a Ukrainian pilot has allegedly surrendered in the Kursk region. These reports are untrue, and all Ukrainian pilots continue to perform missions to protect Ukraine.
