Russian troops again attacked Odesa with ballistic missiles

On Wednesday evening, May 1, Russian occupants attacked Odesa using ballistic missiles. Explosions were heard in the city. At least 13 people are known to have been injured as a result of the enemy shelling.

According to a correspondent of OBOZ.UA, two strong explosions were heard in Odesa around 22:00 during the air raid. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces warned of the threat of Russian troops using ballistic weapons.

After the explosions, a massive fire broke out in the sorting depot and the Nova Poshta office.

The head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, confirmed on his Telegram channel that a massive fire broke out in the city upon arrival. As of 23:00, 13 people were reported injured.

"The enemy attacked Odesa with ballistic missiles. So far, we know about at least 13 victims. There is a massive fire at the site of the hit. Information will be updated," he wrote.

The Nova Poshta company confirmed that the sorting depot and the emergency department came under enemy fire. No one was killed or injured among the company's employees.

"The estimated value of all the parcels that were destroyed as a result of the strike will be compensated to customers in full. We will contact all recipients tomorrow. The parcels that were in transit have been redirected to the 3rd branch of Nova Poshta in Odesa," the statement said.

The company's co-founder Volodymyr Popereshnyuk later noted that all 18 employees of the branch who were on shift managed to hide in a bomb shelter. According to preliminary data, about 900 shipments were affected.

"Tomorrow we will start compensating customers and a project to restore the premises," he wrote on his Facebook page.
