Puffy pies with sauerkraut: how to prepare the dough

Pies are a type of pastry that will never lose its popularity. Everyone seems to love them, from children to adults.

Food blogger Nadia Ptashka shared how to make sauerkraut pies on Instagram. She also showed what to add to the dough to make it perfect.

Ingredients

  • warm water - 200 ml
  • warm milk - 200 ml
  • sugar - 5 tbsp
  • salt - ½ tsp
  • yeast - 40 g
  • oil - 6 tbsp
  • flour - 800 g
  • vodka - 1 tbsp

Method of preparation

1. Mix milk, water, sugar, salt, yeast, oil and vodka in a deep bowl thoroughly.

2. Gradually add flour and knead the dough

3. Put the dough into a bowl greased with oil, cover with cling film and put in a warm place for 1 hour.

4. Knead the dough and form balls of equal size.

5. Stuff with the sauerkraut filling and pinch the edges.

6. Place the pies on a baking sheet covered with parchment, cover with a towel and leave for 20 minutes.

7. Brush with egg yolk and bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
