Pork knuckle in beer: how to surprise guests with a simple New Year's dish

Pork knuckle in beer with a flavorful mustard and honey glaze is a dish that will definitely surprise even the most demanding gourmet. And since it is quite simple to prepare, any family can enjoy it on New Year's Eve.

Chef Lisa Hlinska shared how to cook pork knuckle so that its taste and flavor will not leave anyone indifferent on Instagram. She described the entire cooking process in detail, as well as a recipe for mustard and honey glaze to make the dish perfect.

Ingredients

  • pork knuckle - 1 pc
  • dark beer - 2 liters
  • onion - 1 pc
  • carrot - 1 pc
  • garlic - 1 head
  • cloves
  • star anise
  • bay leaf
  • salt

Ingredients for the glaze

  • hot mustard - 2 tbsp
  • honey - 1 tbsp

Method of preparation

1. Take a large saucepan and put the knuckle, carrots, onions, garlic, bay leaf, star anise and cloves in it.

2. Salt and pour beer over.

3. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat for 2.5-3 hours.

4. Transfer the meat to a baking sleeve.

5. Pour 200 ml of beer broth into the baking sleeve and tie (secure) the ends of the sleeve.

6. Bake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.

7. Mix honey and mustard for the glaze

8. Remove the meat from the oven and put in a clean, open baking sleeve or foil and cover with the glaze.

9. Bake at 180 degrees for another 10 minutes.
