Popular resorts in Turkey are losing tourists en masse: even locals choose Egypt

Why Turkish resorts are losing their popularity, unlike Egyptian ones

It's no secret that Turkey is a popular tourist destination among Ukrainians. However, recently, resorts on the Black and Mediterranean Sea have started to lose tourists en masse.

This is reported by Alanya Medya. According to Turkish media, even locals are opting for Egypt instead of spending their vacations at domestic recreation centers.

"Our citizens are turning to Egypt, mainly for sea, sand and sun, because it is cheaper and better," the news article says. Local tour operators are "promoting" a variety of offers, while tours to Alanya seem less and less attractive.

"Since the cost of a week-long vacation, including airfare, is cheaper than in Turkey, local tourists have already started visiting Egypt. The city of Sharm El Sheikh, located on the Red Sea, has become one of the busiest destinations for Turkish tourists," experts say.

It is worth noting that one Egyptian lira is equivalent to 0.68 Turkish lira. Given the exchange rate difference and Egypt's investments in tourism, travelers are actively planning their next trip to the tourist country in northern Africa.
