Ponytail, bows and the "Halo" haircut. Celebrity hairdressers named the most trendy hairstyles for spring 2024
Experts showed the most trendy hairstyles for spring 2024, including a rethinking of classic haircuts. Professionals urged not to be afraid of experiments, but rather to adapt trends to your own needs to achieve the best result.
"I think we're going to see more and more creative options," famous hairdresser Jay Birmingham told Glamour. "I would like to see bolder, shorter haircuts as opposed to the usual super glamorous Hollywood waves," he adds.
Hair bows
If you haven't picked up on this trend yet in 2023, don't worry, because spring gives you a new chance. A beautiful addition can add zest to an ordinary outfit. Bows can be added to ponytails, braids, buns, and hollyhocks.
Steps
One trend that will only increase its influence this spring is layering with an emphasis on face framing. "Many of the trending haircuts right now include a Rachel from Friends-style face frame," confirms leading hairstylist and trend forecaster Tom Smith.
"Adding layers and texture to any length will help keep the shape longer," explains Leah Hill, a professional hairstylist and Aveda educator.
Texture of the 70s
You can now see more and more people embracing their natural curls and frizz. "For waves and curls, the 70s texture will add movement," says Leah.
Ponytail
High and mid-height braided ponytails have been named the hairstyle of the season, helping to add a more casual yet stylish touch to an outfit.
"Old money" bob
We can thank TikTok for the trendy spring bob. The "old money aesthetic" collided with everyone's favorite above-the-shoulder haircut. The style brings things back to basics and the original classic shape, but extra attention is paid to the condition (extremely glossy) and shape (impeccably blunt).
Side parting
One of the easiest ways to join one of the spring trends is to simply make a side parting. "The relaxed elegance of hair thrown over one shoulder is extremely feminine, while still looking soft. This spring, we're going to see a strong push towards side partings, short cuts, bobs, elongated styles, and even cascades," says Tom.
Average length
The medium haircut offers the best length: it's short enough to feel fresh and stylish, but long enough to be versatile.
Headbands
If you thought the headband was a thing of the 80s, you were wrong. Jennifer Lawrence, Laura Harrier, Bella Hadid, and Sidney Sweeney have recently been seen wearing them. This accessory adds sophistication to the style, prevents hair from falling on the face, and also perfectly covers stale roots.
Cascade
The cascade is the easiest way to update your look, and there are two versions that experts have highlighted for spring. "Birkin bangs are the best option for girls," says Adam Reed, professional hairstylist and editorial representative of L'Oreal Professionnel.
Halo
"The halo silhouette describes the shape of your haircut (whether it's the shape that frames your face or the actual outer silhouette of the haircut). Rounded halo-like silhouettes become massive," says Tom. This haircut has "a rounded shape, but can have layers and a cascade, so it's perfect if you wear natural hair."
