Onion pie on puff pastry: how to cook a delicious dish for the whole family
Homemade pies can be made from any dough and with various fillings, among which fish, vegetable, and meat fillings are especially popular, and potatoes and cheese, mushrooms, and onions are also delicious.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious and satisfying onion pie with puff pastry on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- Puff pastry - 250 g
- Onion - 1 pc.
- Leek - 3 stalks
- Hard cheese - 100 g
- Feta cheese - 80 g
- Cream - 50 g
- Egg - 1 pc.
- Olive oil
- Butter - to taste
- Salt/pepper - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Finely chop the onion. Heat olive oil and butter in a frying pan. Add the onion and simmer it over medium heat until golden brown.
2. Cut the leeks in half lengthwise. Finely chop it. Add to the white onion and simmer until it becomes soft (about 10 minutes). Add salt and pepper to taste.
3. Grease the mold with butter and put the dough in it. Press it well to the sides and cut off the excess. Prick the bottom with a fork, and put the mold with the dough in the refrigerator.
4. Put the onion in a bowl, add the cottage cheese, cream, and egg, mix, and season to taste (salt/pepper). Take the dough out of the refrigerator. Pour the filling into it and spread it evenly.
5. Bake in the oven at 190 C until the dough is golden, about 40 minutes.
